ACN Pilgrimage: Lebanon
Fr Dominic Robinson SJ, Superior of the Mount Street Jesuit Community in London and Ecclesiastical Adviser to Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) will be leading a pilgrimage to Lebanon in June 2017.
This will be an opportunity to walk in prayer and pilgrimage through some historically important sites in the Middle East, as well as visits to ACN project partners.
The present itinerary (which is subject to change) starts at Beirut and includes such biblically significant sites as Sidon and Tyre, where pilgrims will be able to visit the Roman ruins where Paul stayed on the last night of his third missionary journey from Ephesus to Jerusalem. Other highlights will be Wadi Qadisha, the Holy Valley, filled with caves and rock shelters, inhabited from the third millennium BC to the Roman period and Cedars Forest, from which cedar wood was sent to Solomon for the construction of his Temple and Palace.
