Simon Bishop SJ
After the two-year novitiate in Birmingham, Simon studied philosophy at Heythrop College, London. For his Regency, he then spent three years at Wimbledon College, teaching and working in the chaplaincy team, before moving to Paris to do further studies in Theology.
He was ordained to the priesthood in Wimbledon on 13th September 2003, and after completing a final year of theology in Paris, spent four years as chaplain at St Aloysius' College in Glasgow. After Tertianship in Australia in 2009, Simon then joined the chaplaincy team at Oxford University.
Simon comments: 'For me, these last sixteen years in the Society have been wonder-full, not without their difficulties and challenges, of course, but what has always struck me is the extraordinary generosity with which God has responded to my smallest efforts to serve Him. It is true that God is never outdone in generosity.'
Now to Him who, by the power working within us, is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to Him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20)
