Tim Byron SJ

Tim is  and comes from Liverpool.

Before joining the Society, he completed a degree in Philosophy and Theology at Edinburgh University.  After a period of work including working as a nurse in a hospice for the dying, a stint running his own radio show whilst in Edinburgh and working in catering management, he entered the novitiate in 1998.

As a novice he completed placements working in Wimbledon College, Brixton Prison, in a new project for refugees in Birmingham and with travellers in Galway, Ireland . After novitiate, Tim completed an MA in Psychology of Religion at Heythrop College, University of London.

In Regency, Tim worked as a teacher and chaplain at Wimbledon College, one of the largest comprehensive schools in the country.  After receiving his PGCE he taught RE, Philosophy, Theology and Politics.

After two years studying Theology in Madrid, Tim is now completing his studies in London.

He comments, 'The past few years have been some of the richest of my life, and as well as many challenges I have also experienced great Joy.  It is a way of life I would recommend to anyone who was brave enough to consider it.'
