CLC National Assembly 2018
"Living our GIFT...sharing our JOY"
"We desire deeper understanding and commitment in living the gift of Christian Life Community in the world today"
Inspired by St Ignatius Loyola and his Spiritual Exercises, CLC is a lay organisation, a world community of small groups of 4-10 people, helping members from all walks of life to integrate prayer and action in daily life, to respond more fully to God's loving desire for them. Learn more about CLC here or get in contact via email: [email protected]
The National Assembly is an annual weekend gathering for the CLC community in England and Wales. It is an opportunity:
- to meet other CLC members
- to learn more about Ignatian spirituality and the CLC way of life
- to gain a broader perspective of CLC nationally and worldwide
- for listening, private prayer, reflection and small group sharing
- to relax, and enjoy full board at a reasonable price in beautiful surroundings.
"Living our GIFT, sharing our JOY"
"We seek to make ourselves sensitive to the signs of the time and the movements of the Spirit" - CLC GP6
In preparation for the World Assembly in Buenos Aires, we desire to deepen our understanding of the joy and the challenge of the gospel. We will seek inspiration for new ways to share what we have "freely received", through the gift of CLC, with the Church and the wider world.
"At every moment, something good occurs somewhere in the world by the grace of God acting through CLC" [Challenges for CLC Mission - WA2013]

This listed building built in 1867 has had a rich history. Its latest incarnation, following the acquisition by the Diocese of Leeds in 1996, led to a major internal refurbishment to provide a modern Pastoral Conference Centre with good facilities and en-suite rooms, in several acres of landscaped ground.
The Assembly is open to all CLC members and anyone interested in Ignatian spirituality or CLC. Arrivals are from 4pm on Friday 6th July (programme starts after everning meal circa 7.30pm) and the Assembly will finish after lunch on Sunday 8th July.
