Whilst the specific priority tasks remain to be worked out, in consultation with many other church and NGO partners in Brussels, and with the agreement of the Conference of European Provincials, it is clear that we shall try to serve the wider Church, the Society worldwide, and the EU's own ministers and officials, through a work of dialogue and advocacy about some of the themes that are central to the Society's social mission.  The priorities that seem likely at present are:

  relations between the EU and Africa

  solidarity within the EU itself and between the EU and countries beyond itself (within and outside Europe)

  relationship between the State and the Church within the EU
