Burnham Estate, Tower Hamlets, East London

Ken Vance SJ

Previously I spent seven years in Scotland: four years doing youth work in Worcester and then worked for eight years as Catholic youth officer in East London - covering 40 parishes in Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Islington and Camden.  This was followed by a similar period developing and running a residential youth centre in Hampstead.  I have now been back in Liverpool for ten years - in the parish in which I grew up.

It is a good time to be back in Liverpool.  There is a feeling of optimism in the air and we are hoping that this will translate to the lives of the local people.
