A God Who Cares For Us — A Reflective Journey through the Old Testament: Abraham — Our Father in Faith

Led by Brian Purfield

At the start of the Fourth Eucharistic Prayer we pray: “Time and again you offered them covenants and through the prophets taught them to look forward to salvation.” This series of workshops offers reflections on the sequence of covenants throughout salvation history, beginning with Adam and ending with Jesus. Each workshop is an individual piece of the larger jigsaw. While not necessary to attend each workshop, it is strongly encouraged in order to gain the complete picture.

We begin with a reflection on the story from Noah to Abraham. The family relationship with God has been broken and to fix the situation God makes a decisive choice that will permanently alter the flow of the river of history and bring fresh hope. We will reflect on why God chose Abraham, on the three promises God makes to him and on the three covenants God makes with him.
