Moral Theologian to give talk on HIV/AIDS

Fr Jim Keenan SJ, professor of moral theology at Boston College in the USA, will be giving a talk entitled 'Educating In a Time of HIV/AIDS' at the Lauriston Jesuit Centre in Edinburgh tonight.

One of the world's foremost moral theologians and adviser to the US Catholic Bishops' Conference on health care ethics, Jim Keenan was Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies at Edinburgh University in 1994 and is currently Professor of Theological Ethics at Boston College.  He has held visiting chairs and fellowships in Rome, Manila, Princeton and Boston.  He is the chair of the Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church international committee and has over 200 publications.

His latest book is The Works of Mercy: The Heart of Catholicism, soon to be followed by HIV/AIDS and the Catholic Church, co-authored with Dr Jon Fuller SJ.
