Kyran shows his delight as the result is announced

From Stonyhurst to Ice Dance Champion

Former Stonyhurst student and international rugby champion, Kyran Bracken, was crowned Dancing on Ice victor on Saturday.

The show on ITV1 featured celebrities and their professional partners skating in front of a panel of judges.  Dancing on Ice was the fifth highest rated television show of 2006 in the UK.  Kyran - teamed with Melanie Lambert - was the first to score the highest score of six, and an amazing 29.5 out of a possible 30.  But the result of the final depended solely on the vote of the TV audience at home.

Kyran Bracken was a pupil at Stonyhurst College in the late 1980s and last visited the Jesuit College just prior to World Cup glory.  He made his England debut in 1993 and won 51 caps before announcing his retirement from international rugby in March 2004.
