Nick King on 'Living God's Word'

Bath-born Jesuit Nicholas King will be returning to the West Country next month to take part in a major conference organised by three Catholic dioceses.

'Living God's Word' is the theme for the conference at Exeter University from July 16 - 19, organised by the Dioceses of Clifton, Plymouth and Portsmouth.  It will build on the success of the first 'Loud & Clear' conference held in 2004, and will explore what it means to respond to Jesus' invitation to 'follow me'.

The bishops of the three dioceses will join delegates participating in a diverse range of workshops, discussions, liturgies and speeches all led by some of today's most talented pastoral workers and thinkers.  They will include respected scripture scholar Father Nicholas King SJ, who has recently published a groundbreaking translation of the New Testament; American-based Bill Huebsch well-known for publishing 'Vatican II in Plain English'; and internationally known author, lecturer, and retreat leader Megan McKenna.

Nicky Stevens, Head of the Department for Pastoral Formation for the Portsmouth Diocese said: ''Loud & Clear' is a wonderful opportunity for our dedicated parishioners to explore new ways of living our faith.  Speakers will help us respond to the challenges of faith as we strive to live God's word in contemporary society.'
