CD issued to help organ fund
A CD of organ music recorded at Sacred Heart Church in Wimbledon, South London, has been released to help raise funds for the church's Organ Appeal Fund. David Gammie is the organist, performing works by Bach, Beethoven, Richard Wagner, Engelbert Humperdinck, Guy Weitz (a former Wimbledonian), and others.
The facilities at Sacred Heart are used by many groups, young and old, and there is an urgent need to renew the church and parish buildings to make them accessible to all, to provide more space for youth ministry, to make urgent repairs to the Grade II* listed church and to restore the historic organ. The church, designed in the late Decorated Gothic style by architect, Frederick Walters, was founded by the Jesuits in 1887.
