Actors for Refugees in 'Asylum Monologues'




Celebrations on 10 November - Wimbledon

Join us to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Fr Pedro Arrupe SJ through a series of activities focussing on refugees and asylum seekers.  Organised jointly by the British Jesuits, Jesuit Refugee Service and Jesuit Missions, the events are taking place at Sacred Heart Church in Wimbledon between 3pm and 9.30pm on Saturday, 10 November.

Father Arrupe was the Superior General of the Society of Jesus from 1965 to 1983, and was the founder of Jesuit Refugee Service.  His commitment to refugees and asylum seekers is reflected in what will be happening at Wimbledon.
In the Afternoon
* A powerful photo exhibition describing the life of asylum seekers in Detention Centres in the UK
* The Acholi Gospel Choir (4:15 pm)
* Talks and Interviews with Asylum seekers 5:00 pm)
* Celebration of the Eucharist at the Parish church (6:30 pm)
In the evening (7:30 pm)
Award winning theatre performance 'Asylum Monologues' and buffet supper (cost: £15 per person.  Advance booking essential).
