The CLC pilgrims with Father General in Rome

Roma Ignatiana - young adult CLC pilgrims in Rome

The first-ever young adult Christian Life Community pilgrimage took place over the May Bank Holiday weekend.  Following 'in the footsteps of St Ignatius', the pilgrimage party was drawn from the several young adult CLC groups now meeting regularly in Mount Street in Central London, linked with the First Sunday plus (FSPlus) young adult ministries.

Fr David Stewart SJ, Director of FSPlus, led the pilgrimage and the party was joined by Brother Alan Harrison SJ, the Province's incoming CLC Ecclesial Assistant, who was in Rome for meetings about his new role.

'It was our privilege to be welcomed warmly by Fr General,' said Father Stewart. 'He graciously spent over half-an-hour with us on the Terrazzo of the Curia overlooking St Peter's.  His friendly warm welcome meant much to each of us.'

Br Alan provided a fascinating account of the histories of the Gesú, San Ignazio and the Roman College; an unscheduled surprise was an added tour of the rooms of SS Aloysius and John Berchmans.  The pilgrimage concluded with a prayerful Mass of St Ignatius in the camerette next to the Gesú .
