Students at the Oxford University Chaplaincy

A new team at Oxford University Chaplaincy

There are two new members in the chaplaincy team at Oxford University.  Alexandra Harrod has joined Jesuits Fr John Moffatt SJ and Fr Roger Dawson SJ as the new lay-chaplain, and Fr Simon Bishop SJ will be joining the team full time in January 2010.  He will take over from Fr John as senior chaplain when Fr John goes on sabbatical from the end of Hilary Term (March) until the beginning of Michaelmas 2010 (October).

Alexandra studied Ancient History at St Andrews before embarking on a year as a volunteer missionary working in school and community projects in the Philippines.  In the last two years she has been working as assistant chaplain and acting chaplain at Ampleforth.

Fr Simon has studied Theology and Philosophy in Cambridge, London and Paris (Centre Sevres).  He has worked as teacher and school chaplain in Wimbledon College, London and at St Aloysius' College, Glasgow.  He is currently completing Tertianship, the final stage of his Jesuit training.

David Barrins OP, currently studying at Blackfriars, will also be joining the team as a volunteer with effect from the beginning of October.
