PRAY-AS-YOU-GO THIS ADVENT: with Pope Benedict's encyclical

This Advent, as a way of preparing for the celebration of the coming of our Saviour, Pray-as-you-go will be focusing on some of the issues raised and insights offered in Pope Benedict's encyclical letter, Caritas in Veritate (Charity in Truth).

For these next four weeks, the scripture reading each day will be as usual, but the format of Pray-as-you-go will be a little different, reflecting on the reading in the context of one of the themes of the encyclical - social development in a global context, in the light of the Gospel.  The aim will be to encourage users to partake in a prayerful consideration not only of the scripture, but also of the realities of the world around us, with the help of these writings of the Holy Father.

For more information and to download the daily prayers sessions, go to www.pray-as-you-go.org/ And if you would like to read more about Caritas in Veritate, there is an introduction to it on Thinking Faith, the British Jesuits' online journal, which will be followed by further reflections this Advent (link below).
