St Aloysius student raises funds for good causes

This October, a young student from St Aloysius' College in Glasgow will be setting off for Delhi, with eleven other Glasgow school pupils who were selected to serve as Interaction Ambassadors for the Commonwealth Games. They have been fully funded by the British Council for the trip.

But, according to Chiara Ruddy, a student in S6 at the Jesuit college, the twelve pupils wanted to make the experience even more meaningful, and to build partnership links with Indian schools and charities. 'The participating schools will therefore hold non-uniform days to raise funds for relevant good causes.  Unfortunately, due to the proximity of the Papal Visit and other events around that time, St Aloysius' College could not participate in this non-uniform fundraiser, so I opted instead to run the 10k Great Scottish Run this Sunday.'

The online donations raised will go to Jesuit Missions and the funds raised by other routes will go to charities and community activities suggested by the organisers of the visit.
