Prof Thomas Groome

Professor Thomas Groome

Last year, the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud led to the postponement of a lecture by Professor Thomas Groome at St Aloysius' College in Glasgow.  This has now been rescheduled for Monday, 21 February at 7.30pm.  It will be entitled 'What Keeps us Catholic?'

Professor Groome is Director of the Institute of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry and is Professor of Theology and Religious Education at Boston College.  He is the author of Christian Religious Education (widely regarded as the most influential contemporary work on the subject), Educating for Life and What Makes Us Catholic? He has also been mandated as a Catholic Theologian by the Archbishop of Boston.

Mr John Stoer, Head Master of St Aloysius, describes Professor Groome as 'one of the Church's foremost authorities and writers on religious education ...  His works are known throughout the world and he is a most engaging public speaker.'

Admission to the lecture on Monday 21 February is free.  More details are available from St Aloysius' College (link below).
