The Donhead Champions!

Donhead Rugby Champions

Donhead Preparatory School in Wimbledon has recently enjoyed their most successful weekend in the school's rugby history.

On Saturday, March 5, the school was victorious at the Donhead U10 (Year 5) Rugby Festival; and the U11A Team (Year 6) were successful at the St Benedict's 7's in Ealing.  The following day the U8A Team (Year 3) were Runners-Up at the National Preparatory Schools Rugby Tournament held at Epsom College, while the U11A Team went one stage further by winning the National Preparatory Schools Rugby Tournament and becoming National Champions for the first time.

After proceeding through the group stages, the U11A Team defeated The Beacon School from Amersham in the quarter final, Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Wakefield in the semi-final and Blundell's School, Devon, in a keenly contested final.

Many pupils from Donhead proceed from the preparatory school to Wimbledon College, which allows the boys to benefit from a Jesuit education from 4-18 years of age.  Each year a number of the boys also transfer to a wide range of other senior schools.  Donhead was founded by the Jesuits in 1933.
