The Parishes of Much Hadham and Sawbridgeworth

Holy Cross, Much Hadham

The shared parish church of St. Andrew and Holy Cross in Church Lane, Much Hadham, is a lovely Gothic church, built largely between 1225 and 1450.  It is shared between St Andrew’s Church of England congregation and the Holy Cross Catholic congregation.

Although services are separate, both communities try hard to keep a strong spirit of Christian unity alive in the way they work out their Sharing Agreement.

At major Christian celebrations, such as Christmas and Easter, they come together for special acts of worship and social gatherings; they have joint parish retreats, discussion groups and prayer meetings in Lent and before Advent, and many other informal activities throughout the year.

Sunday Mass: 11am

For details of other services and sacraments,
see the web site.

Most Holy Redeemer, Sawbridgeworth

The church of the Most Holy Redeemer is a small Catholic church with an average attendance of about 200 people at mass each week.  We are a very friendly parish and we usually have tea and coffee available after our Sunday 9.30 am Mass.  People tend to stay for a while and chat as it provides a relaxed atmosphere for getting to know other people within the parish

Sunday Mass: 6.30pm(Sat), 9.30am
