Promoter of Ignatian Spirituality

There are many Ignatian groups in Britain, made up of people who have found the inspiration for their lives in Ignatian Spirituality.  Their leaders provide spiritual direction and give the Spiritual Exercises.  Collaboration between the Jesuits and others who are inspired by and wish to share Ignatian Spirituality has become, in recent decades, an increasingly important aspect of the Jesuits' work in Britain, both in its spirituality centres and more widely.

The British Province of the Society of Jesus welcomes and encourages these groups and their leadership, and seeks to offer them support through the Promoter of Ignatian Spirituality, who is presently Father Gero McLoughlin SJ.  Though based in Scotland, he works throughout Britain, providing continuous formation opportunities for the group and fostering good standards of training in Ignatian Spirituality among them.  He is assisted by the Promoter's Consultative Group.
