The Jesuits founded the parish of St Ignatius in Stamford Hill, North London, in 1894. Built in 1903, it is part of the Archdiocese of Westminster. Having been neglected over many years, the building underwent a major restoration at the beginning of the 21st century and its floodlit twin towers and façade make it a highlight of the neighbourhood. The parish is large, cosmopolitan and lively: seven parish choirs offering a variety of musical and liturgical styles and Mass is said weekly in Polish and Spanish, as well as in English.
