Patrick Corkery makes his vows
Patrick (Pat) Corkery SJ said there was “a palpable sense of God’s presence” on the night he made his profession of First Vows. The ceremony took place in Manresa Retreat House Chapel in Dublin on 24 November. Over 70 people attended the Mass, including Pat’s family, friends, and Jesuit colleagues. An Irishman who converted to Catholicism at Farm Street Church in London and went on to become a Jesuit has been recognised by Pope Francis. The British Jesuit Provincial, Fr Dermot Preston SJ, was the principal concelebrant at a special Mass at Clongowes Wood College near Dublin to celebrate the Bicentenary of the Restoration of the Society of Jesus and the founding of the College.
