Theology-on-Tap originated in the United States and is a monthly initiative of the Young Adults Ministry based at the Mount Street Jesuit Centre.

Theology-on-Tap has evolved from extensive consultation with young adults, particularly those involved with the First Sunday PLUS ministry at the Mount Street Jesuit Centre.

'The young people on our Steering Group often say how they don't know
what the Catholic tradition teaches and would like to know more,'

says Dave Stewart SJ, Director of the Young Adults Ministry at the MSJC. ' They're asking for something like this that is not only a form of catechesis, but can also help them live better and witness to Christ better.
Theology-on-Tap is aimed at all young adults, both single and married, but we hope it will appeal in particular to young professionals, people who feel social and career pressures and are looking to their faith as an antidote to secularisation and materialism.'

The Mount Street Jesuit Centre offers a wide range of activities with a particular focus on Ignatian Spirituality and adult theological education. The Young Adults Ministry includes First and Third Sunday Masses at Farm Street Church, as well as retreats and reflection opportunities. Working from the Jesuit principle of 'finding God in all things', the organisers of Theology-on-Tap say there's no reason why that should not include a Central London bar.

First Sunday is the monthly Young Adult Mass, running successfully for four years now, which draws young adults (20s & 30s) from all over London for a reflective, contemporary Sunday liturgy. Farm Street Church generously allows us to host FS there after the days’ parish Masses are over. More recently, Third Sunday has developed as a quieter, even more reflective alternative, featuring guided and silent Ignatian meditation
on the scriptures of that Sunday.

The T-on-T sessions start at 7pm with food available for purchase from the pub; the presentations last for approximately half-an-hour starting at 7.30pm, after which there is time for questions and discussions.
