Frank Turner SJ

Looking back on my Jesuit life, I can see how a variety of specific jobs have been unified by a particular theme: the attempt to seek, in my own life and in the life of the Church, an integration between these elements:-

Spirituality - by which, here, I simply mean 'living in the power of God's Spirit'

Theology - the intellectual exploration of Catholic Christian life as a response to the love of God, as that is expressed to us in the sources of faith: Scripture, the Church's traditions and teaching and our own, shared human experience.

A commitment to social justice - as a privileged expression of the 'great commandment' to love our neighbour as God has loved us - inclusively, universally, 'without favourites'.
