Breakfast with Xavier
St Francis Xavier’s Church Liverpool celebrated its patronal feast on Saturday, 2nd December - the feast day of St Francis Xavier having been liturgically suspended because of the First Sunday of Advent.
The Feast was celebrated with ‘Breakfast with Xavier’ and delicious bacon butties were enjoyed by all.
Before 12 noon Mass the parish held a time of reflection using the ‘Pray as Go’ podcast issuing from a mobile phone proudly taking place at the lectern alongside the microphone.
At 12 noon Mass two of the regular SFX altar servers received the Enrolment Award of the Guild of St Stephen from parish priest Fr Denis Blackledge SJ for their continued faith, commitment and service. Grace said “Thank you to everyone who came and supported me on Saturday when I was enrolled in the Guild of St Stephen. I am very grateful for being able to serve at SFX so thank you very much for the honour.”
Everyone enjoyed a really good feast day. Mary Aspinall, a Friend of SFX Church, said “Thank you for the pre-planning preparations for the very successful breakfast. It all helped to make the Feast Day special!”
