CLC midlands celebrates 450 years

On Saturday 21st March the Midlands Region of the Christian Life Community (CLC) celebrated 450 years of Ignatian Lay Communities in St Peter’s Parish Centre, Leamington Spa.

Our theme for the day was “CLC and the Family”. We looked back to the CLC World Assembly in Lebanon last Summer and forward to the Synod on the Family in the Autumn.

Br. Alan Harrison SJ, our National Chaplain, gave an enlightening presentation on the family and how complex and challenging families are becoming. After prayer and reflection, the sharings were moving and encouraging. Fr. Simon Bishop SJ, the Director of Spirituality for the Jesuits in Britain, celebrated a most uplifting Mass with a truly inspiring sermon based on Jesus and the woman at the well.

Christian Life Community is a way of life, inspired by the spirituality of St Ignatius of Loyola the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits).

Our characteristics are:- Spirituality (living prayer), Community (a spiritual family) and Mission (loving service).

Christian Life Community is present in over 60 national worldwide. There are over 60 groups in England and Wales including 13 groups in the Midlands region. We meet fortnightly in small groups, sharing our faith journey and where we have seen God working in our lives.

We are delighted to be supported by Pope Francis who was the Ecclesiastical Advisor for CLC when he was in Argentina.
