Stonyhurst SMH's pre-Christmas Parents Weekend 2015

Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall was full of sparkling talent and pre-Christmas cheer last weekend as the children held their Christmas Term Parents’ Weekend.  A packed programme of events began with the pre-prep Nativity play (below), performed by the children of Hodder House, followed by the Christmas Concert.

The contemporary theme was the clash of ideas between pupils and teachers: would it be a traditional nativity play, complete with angels and shepherds, or something livelier? The children’s singing raised the roof of the Centenaries Theatre, and their choreography was exceptional. Many of the parents commented on how enjoyable it had been to see this entertaining glimpse of school life and the fun that goes on behind the scenes!Braving the elements at Interline Sport

Saturday evening concluded with carols, mince pies and mulled wind around the Christmas tree, before the children reassembled on Sunday for Mass in St Peter’s Church. This was followed by Interline Sport (left) which - despite extremely wet conditions – was great fun! The weekend culminated with the boarders’ families enjoying Christmas lunch in the refectory.
