HOPE, HEARTACHE & HOT SWEET TEA

Tales of a human rights monitor in the Holy Land

Philippa Bonella has just returned to Edinburgh from three months working with the World Council of Churches’ Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel.

Based in a small village in the occupied West Bank, her role was to report on human rights violations, provide a protective presence to local communities, and support Palestinians and Israelis working for peace.  She will share stories of some of the people she met, true tales set against a backdrop of the beautiful scenery and ancient sites of the Holy Land.

Generously supported by the Jesuit Fund for Social Justice.
