Jesuits & Friends magazine winter edition
Before we tell you about this latest edition of Jesuits & Friends, a special thank you to the outgoing editor, Paul Nicholson SJ, who has been editing the magazine for five years and hands over responsibility to Attila Kulcsar, the new Media and Communications Manager for the British Province.
As we approach Christmas, we also look ahead to the New Year. Many of you will know that the bishops of England and Wales have asked that 2020 be a year to focus on the Bible, under the title 'The God Who Speaks'. Inside these pages you will find a thought-provoking piece on the importance of this initiative. As Fr Paul says in the editor's introduction: 'One of its aims is to create a confidence in scripture that makes us more attentive to the ways in which God speaks through the people and the world around us.'
Also included in this edition of Jesuits & Friends: Paul Martin SJ celebrates the thorough preparation for the Amazon Synod; Nigel Johnson SJ looks back on nearly 50 years in Zimbabwe; David Stewart SJ on Praying with the Pope; Rory Geoghegan SJ tells us about his life's work as a sculptor; and an interview with David Smolira SJ on how the Province's spirituality work is changing. There are also articles about The Centre for Chaplaincy in Education and Jesuit Missions, among others.
The magazine should be out on display in our centres and parishes in the next week. Please look out for it and pick up your free copy. Alternatively, if you would like to receive your free copy in the post to your home, please email Jesuit Missions with your address and you will be added to the subscription list.
