Anouska Robinson-Biggin fcJ
My name is Sr. Anouska Robinson-Biggin fcJ. I have been involved in Jesuit young adult ministry since 2008 and from April 2011 I have coordinated the First Sunday Plus Team. The role expanded in October 2012 when I became Director of Young Adult Ministries, based at the Mount Street Jesuit Centre. My work mainly involves coordinating the different aspects of a programme for young adults. This includes coordinating the team of volunteers who help run the First and Third Sunday Masses as well as facilitating different courses for young adults held at the Mount Street Jesuit Centre. I am also involved in the parish at Farm Street and responsible for planning and delivering of the Confirmation programme.
As a religious sister in the Society of sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus www.fcjsisters.org , working with the Jesuits is a place I feel very at home. We share the same values and the same ideals for mission which enables me to flourish and grow where I am planted. I first volunteered with the young adults in order to meet people my own age who shared my spirituality. I moved into working for the Jesuits when asked by my Provincial to explore whether there would be any chance of collaboration with the Jesuits when I returned from my international year in Canada. I never expected the role that I now have but I know it enables me to work out of my best self and therefore enables me to invite young adults to do the same too.
