Old Aloysian goes to Scottish Parliament

A recent graduate of St Aloysius' College in Glasgow starts a prestigious internship with the Scottish Parliament this summer. Pierce-Patrick Hynes from the Class of 2014 developed a strong interest in politics during his time at the Jesuit college and has been accepted to study Law at the University of Edinburgh. Now he will be learning about how important decisions are made within the Scottish Government over the summer months.

“I will be in a privileged position to gain an insight into the machinery of government and its decision-making processes,” says Pierce-Patrick who is an eager supporter of Scottish Independence. “I am especially glad to have been afforded the opportunity to gain an insight into the democratic system in action and am looking forward to campaigning for a Yes vote in the run up to September's referendum.”

Pierce-Patrick believes his time at St Aloysius’ College has prepared him well, particularly in regards to his Higher Modern Studies classes and experiences with the College’s Debating Team, Public Speaking Team and Pupil Council.
