Lescek Golebiewski SJ
Lescek Golebiewski joined the novitiate in Kalisz in Poland in 1981. He first connected with the Jesuits during a pilgrimage to the famous shrine of Czestochova.
He studied Philosophy in Kracow, and then went for three years to London assisting with the pastoral ministry to the Polish immigrant communities of London at Walm Lane Chapel, Willesden Green.
He returned to Poland to study Theology in Warsaw, and finished his studies at the Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained in Warsaw in 1993. He returned to London in 1996 as assistant to the parish priest at Walm Lane for another four years, and then served as the chaplain to the University of Torun in Poland.
Lescek is currently in his third tour of duty at Walm Lane. This one began in 2005 when he re-joined the community as assistant to the parish priest. He became the parish priest and community Superior in 2009.
