Three Glasgow Heads meet in Oxford

Three former headmasters of St Aloysius College in Glasgow met up in Oxford recently at the Heads of Religious Education Conference which was organised by the Jesuit Institute.

John Stoer, who until last year was the college’s first lay Head, caught up with members of the Aloysian community studying at Oxford University and his predecessors, Fr Adrian Porter SJ and Fr James Hanvey SJ.

Mr Stoer himself is currently studying for a PhD. He met with a group of Old Aloysians in an Oxford pub near the university where they are studying History, English, International Law and Languages. Ryan Diamond, Sophie Harkins, Catherine Canning, Katherine Hoggson and Monica Burns (pictured below) were delighted to catch up with their old Head Master with whom they developed a close bond during their time at the college.

Fr Porter (Headmaster 1995 to 2004), in his capacity as the Director of the Jesuit Institute, had invited Mr Stoer (2004-2013) and Fr Hanvey (1991-95) to address the conference at Campion Hall as special guest speakers.
