Time to get ready for the 2015 Marathon!

The muscles may still be aching from last month's London Marathon and the memory of cheering the runners through their 26.2 mile course might still be fresh, but Jesuit Missions (JM) is already looking ahead to 2015. There are a number of places available for the JM London Marathon team in 2015 and potential participants are being urge to plan - and train - ahead.

"We're looking for runners to join our team," says JM's Deputy Director Richard Greenwood. "So if you, or someone you know, would like to be part of this extraordinary day then please contact the JM office. You can email us on admin@gbjm.org or by phone on 0208 946 0466. You don’t need to be Mo Farah to take part, just have the desire to raise money for important work around the world and a good pair of trainers!"

Nacho was a JM Marathon runner in 2014. “It has been an incredible and personally rewarding experience for me," he says, "The time result was of secondary importance and the main takeaway was the team spirit I found there, the great cause we run for and great people I met.”

John, who ran the Marathon in 2013, says the JM staff made the Saturday and Sunday of the Marthon weekend days that he will always remember. "You and all the people involved were just incredible and I cannot thank you all enough. I fly back to Zimbabwe with some incredible memories.”

Jesuit Missions’ Marathon runners have raised approximately one million pounds since the first JM team took part in 1999. The money raised allows JM to support life changing work throughout the world, the money raised has been used to support the work of JRS internationally, assisting refugees around the world, to improve schools, to help those living with HIV/Aids and to provide leadership and skills training for young people from some of the most marginalised societies in Africa. "Thank you for your continued support," says Richard Greenwood.
