
The conference will be held at Christ Church, University of Oxford from 16-18 May 2022 and will offer new perspectives from theology, ethics, philosophy and related fields on questions of land use and agriculture. Its aim is to map out what we might call a new “territorial” turn for global society.
There will be a special focus on contemporary issues and case-studies in land contestations from around the world, and the conference will feature a prestigious line-up of speakers and a number of associated panels and events.

Fr Christophere, a Jesuit priest and SOAS researcher, explores how the displacement of Congo’s autochthonous peoples reflects the “technocratic paradigm” and loss of “integral ecology” described in Laudato Si’.
