Discerning with Directees

February 10, 2023

Spiritual direction in the Christian tradition is a charism and a ministry that requires both a prayerful engagement in the spiritual life and the deepening of specific skills for good practice.

The theme of this two-day online workshop is Discerning with Directees: How to accompany a directee who is making a decision. The workshop will make particular use of the Ignatian teaching on discernment and decision-making, which is one of the great gifts of Ignatian spirituality. However, this CPD workshop is open and welcoming to directors who have trained in other traditions of spiritual direction.

Workshop outline

The two-day online workshop (on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th Feb, 10.30am-4.30pm) will consist of input on and demonstrations of the art of spiritual direction and will draw on the experience and expertise of participants. There will be time for reflection and exploration of each person’s own practice through facilitated group supervision and skills practice with peer and trainer feedback.
