Presenting: ‘Francesco – Inspiring Hope’ (1hr 56min)
Following the last club meeting where we showed the Jesuit-related 1973 classic The Exorcist, the film club continues with an excellent papal documentary.
‘Francesco - Inspiring Hope’ is the 2020 headline-making Pope Francis documentary from Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Evgeny Afineevsky. The making of this ground breaking film granted unprecedented access to His Holiness, providing an intimate look at a global leader who approaches challenging and complex issues including: climate change, migration and refugees, women’s empowerment, sexual abuse, the global pandemic, and many others.
The director, who achieved Oscar and Emmy nominations for his 2016 documentary, Winter on Fire – Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom, will be joining us and will participate in a Q&A after the film.
With a Covid-limited attendance, please register to attend by emailing David Hurst (the event organiser) at dthurst52@gmail.com.
We look forward to welcoming you!
This residential weekend retreat offers participants the opportunity to explore the human condition through your own life story, in the context of the Gospel and the Christian spiritual life, using mindfulness skills and contemplative Christian prayer.
This is an online retreat day especially for you to set aside time with God while making. You will find your own quiet space to be at work and use your own materials of choice. There will be suggestions for prayer and opportunities to share your prayer.
An online retreat in daily life enables you to make time for prayer and reflection in the midst of daily commitments. It is suitable both for people who feel like they don't have enough time to pray and for those who simply feel like their prayer life needs refreshment.
