Inter-Congregation Reflection Group

Ignatian congregations meet together to read Brian O’Leary’s seminal book Unlocking a Treasure: Our Jesuit Constitutions to seek inspiration and to share insights about their own constitutions and search for renewal.

Brian O’Leary is an Irish Jesuit who has written and lectured widely in Ignatian Spirituality. Having completed his doctoral studies in Rome, he spent some years at the Manresa Jesuit Centre of Spirituality in Dublin. He has since continued to lecture on Ignatian spirituality, direct retreats, conduct workshops, and write books and articles.

Among his books are Sent into the Lord's Vineyard (The Way, 2012), Radical and Free (Messenger Publications, 2016), God Ever Greater: Exploring Ignatian Spirituality (Messenger Publications, 2018; Liturgical Press, 2020) and To Love and To Serve: Selected Essays: Exploring the Ignatian Tradition (Messenger Publications, 2021).

The Inter-congregation Reflection Group comprises of five meetings with members of the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), Congregation of Jesus (CJ), and the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM). Here are the dates:

'Be still and know that I am God’: Exploring Mindfulness, Psychology and the Christian life

Friday 14th November, 3.00pm - Monday 17th November, after lunch (from 2.00pm)

This residential weekend retreat offers participants the opportunity to explore the human condition through your own life story, in the context of the Gospel and the Christian spiritual life, using mindfulness skills and contemplative Christian prayer.

Join Dr Aidan Cottrell-Boyce and Fr Christophere Ngolele SJ for the second Laudato Si’ lecture. Fr Christophere, a Jesuit priest and SOAS researcher, explores how the displacement of Congo’s autochthonous peoples reflects the “technocratic paradigm” and loss of “integral ecology” described in Laudato Si’.
