Join Dr Aidan Cottrell-Boyce and Fr Christophere Ngolele SJ for the second in the Laudato Si' Lecture series. Fr Christophere is a Jesuit priest and anthropologist who is in the process of completing his PhD at the department of Sociology and Anthropology at SOAS. Fr Christophere's research examines the transition experience of the autochthonous peoples of Congo who - as a result of interventions by government, the forestry industry and conservationists - have been "removed from the forest, their dwelling place." The story of the autochthonous peoples provides a real world insight into the 'technocratic paradigm' and the loss of 'integral ecology' which is described in the text of Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si'.
