Fr Stan dedicated much of his life to defending the rights of Adivasi (Indigenous tribal) and Dalit communities. His arrest in 2020 under anti-terror legislation and subsequent imprisonment attracted international concern. Despite suffering from Parkinson’s disease, he was denied adequate care and died in custody at the age of 84.
The Mass takes place on the eve of the fifth anniversary of his death and offers an opportunity to remember his commitment to justice, human dignity and solidarity with marginalised communities.
