Creativity can look different for everyone! Whether it’s paper-crafting, sewing, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, painting, drawing, origami, pottery, woodcarving, photography, music or writing, there’s room for all our creative expressions.
This is an online retreat day especially for you to set aside time with God while making. You will find your own quiet space to be at work and use your own materials of choice. There will be suggestions for prayer and opportunities to share your prayer.
The day will consist of:
• Gathering online for a short input from Vron Smith on a theme, with some suggestions for prayer to take into your making and prayer time.
• Time for prayerful making, with materials of your choosing (offline).
• Gathering online to share the fruit of your prayer so far in the group.
• In the afternoon, there will be a further suggestion for prayerful making together with the opportunity to continue with the morning’s making if desired.
Vron Smith is a spiritual director and retreat giver who loves making ... especially quilting, paper-crafting, crochet.
The requested donation for this event is £40. This is what the Jesuit Institute and Pray As You Go need to cover our costs and to support our work of making Ignatian spirituality available to as many people as possible. However, if you are unable to donate this amount for any reason, please offer what you can (or even nothing at all!). All are most welcome to attend.
If you are interested in booking a place on this retreat please visit the web page on the Jesuit Institute website here.
The team at St Beuno's have created this retreat for participants to reflect on Pope Leo XIV's statement: "We want to be a synodal church, walking and always seeking peace, charity, closeness, especially to those who are suffering."
An online retreat in daily life enables you to make time for prayer and reflection in the midst of daily commitments. It is suitable both for people who feel like they don't have enough time to pray and for those who simply feel like their prayer life needs refreshment.
