This month’s screening features Wild Rose (2018), a musical drama that tells the story of a young Glaswegian musician determined to pursue her dream of becoming a Nashville country music star.

The film stars Jessie Buckley, whose performance in Hamnet recently earned her both OSCAR and BAFTA recognition, alongside Julie Walters and Sophie Okonedo.

Wild Rose has been widely praised, earning a 7.8 rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and saw Buckley nominated for Best Actress at the 2019 BAFTAs. Echoing the spirit of early road-to-fame stories, the film captures the struggles and aspirations of a talented artist chasing her passion.

A heart-warming and compelling story, Wild Rose promises to delight audiences.
