Jesuit Institute expands Schools Team and opens recruitment for four new roles

December 19, 2025

The Jesuit Institute, the education and formation arm of Jesuits in Britain, is expanding its Schools Team and is now recruiting for four new roles designed to deepen Ignatian formation and strengthen support across the Jesuit school network.

The Institute works with school leaders, teachers, pupils and wider school communities to nurture a lived experience of the Ignatian charism and foster a rich understanding of the Catholic faith, drawing on the traditions and pedagogy of St Ignatius of Loyola. In addition to its work within Jesuit schools, the Institute contributes to the wider field of Catholic education in the UK by sharing Ignatian pedagogy and formation resources.

To build on this work, the following positions are now being created:

Assistant Schools Officer, to support the existing Schools Officer in coordinating and developing programmes for Jesuit schools.

Three region-based Schools Ignatian Formators, who will be located in:

London, serving Wimbledon College, St Ignatius College and Donhead Preparatory School

Lancashire, working with Stonyhurst College, St Mary’s Hall and St Joseph’s

Glasgow, covering St Aloysius College and its Junior School

These roles are intended to provide formation, accompaniment and support for staff and pupils, helping school communities live out and deepen their engagement with Ignatian spirituality and educational practice. The Jesuit Institute’s work complements programmes such as Shared Vision and other formation initiatives that encourage a strong sense of identity and mission within Jesuit education.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. Appointments will be subject to safeguarding checks and other standard vetting procedures.

Further details, including role descriptions and application instructions, can be found in the full job listing below, or viewed on the Jesuit Institute website here.
