JESUITS IN BRITAIN SAFEGUARDING COMMUNICATIONS PLAN

OBJECTIVE: Our Safeguarding Communications Plan is designed to ensure:

1.   Ease of access to raise any safeguarding concerns or complaints with us via a variety of channels to facilitate effective investigation, support and redress to victims/survivors.

2.   Access to information regarding our safeguarding policies and procedures, and the arrangements which oversee and review these.

3.   Accountability and transparency through access to regular reports to our Trustees from our Trustees’ Safeguarding Committee.

Actions:

1.   Posters displaying the contact details of our safeguarding team and safeguarding area of the website will be prominently displayed throughout the ministries across the Province and associated activities. They will also be included inappropriate regular publications and newsletters.

2.   The Province website will include a section dedicated to safeguarding, which will be prominently included in the website menu.

3.   The safeguarding area of the website will include copies of the Province’s safeguarding policies, procedures, links to complaints and whistleblowing policies, Trustee oversight structures and key personnel, and details of any recent convictions of Province personnel to enable any other victims/survivors to come forward.

4.   The Province Trustees’ Annual Safeguarding Report and Trustees’ Safeguarding Committee summary reports to Trustees will be published in the safeguarding area of the website.

5.   How we will communicate with individual victims/survivors will be set out in our policy and in written communications to be provided to them.

This Plan will be reviewed in April 2027
