Online Integral Ecology course relaunched on 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’

January 23, 2025

The Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, in collaboration with academic partners, including the Laudato Si' Research Institute, a work of the Jesuits in Britain, has revived its online course in Integral Ecology on the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’s encyclical letter, Laudato Si’, which addresses the urgent need for proactive environmental stewardship. The course begins on 30 January 2025.

The six-module online course will share ‘transformative teachings’ from Laudato Si’, published in 2015, as well as the apostolic exhortation, Laudate Deum, published in 2023. Both documents highlight the need for an integral ecology that connects environmental, economic, cultural, and social issues, arguing that everything is interrelated.

The course will be taught by an international faculty of global experts, including Celia Deane-Drummond from the Laudato Si' Research Institute, and others working in the field of Integral Ecology.

The course is being awarded by the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, which was founded in 1551 by St Ignatius of Loyola, and is being run in partnership with the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Ecology, Laudato Si’ Movement, Laudato Si' Research Institute (LSRI), and other organisations investing in this important area of work.
