The series is available free on the Pray As You Go website and app. You can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and join a global community pausing each day to encounter God in prayer.
Pray As You Go is a daily prayer audio platform produced by the Jesuits in Britain, offering short guided reflections to help people pray and reflect on Scripture in the midst of busy daily life.
Every month, the Holy Father invites the global Church to unite in prayer for a particular intention that reflects the challenges facing humanity and the mission of the Church. This year, a renewed initiative called Pray with the Pope offers a fresh, accessible way to join in this mission of prayer and communion.
Through this collaboration, you can watch a short video message from the Pope in the Pray As You Go app and then listen to a reflective prayer session based on his monthly intention.
The first intention of 2026 — and this month’s prayer focus — is:
“Let us pray that praying with the Word of God be nourishment for our lives and a source of hope in our communities, helping us to build a more fraternal and missionary Church.”
This invitation encourages us to rediscover the Scriptures not just as texts to read, but as living nourishment that guides, sustains, and empowers our journey of faith. In his video, the Pope prays that the Word of God may be light for our steps, strength in weariness, and hope in darkness, shaping both our personal lives and our mission as Christians.
The reflection on this theme reminds us that:
“As we go through life, we learn to recognise God’s voice that speaks to us with love. We keep on listening to that voice, and keep trying to respond to what God is asking of us.”
“Jesus offers himself as nourishment for every human being. He does not drive anyone away, but welcomes everyone into his presence.”
It invites us to spend a moment resting in the presence of Jesus, listening for the spiritual nourishment he offers right now — wherever we find ourselves.
Pray with the Pope is part of a long-standing tradition of prayer promoted by the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, a pontifical foundation rooted in a mission that goes back over 180 years. Its purpose is to unite Catholics and people of good will around the Pope’s monthly prayer intentions, mobilising prayer and action for the world’s most pressing needs.
