St Beuno’s Jesuit Spirituality Centre welcomes supporters for annual Thanksgiving Mass at Farm Street

June 17, 2025

On Thursday 12 June, supporters from London and the Southeast gathered at Farm Street Church for a special Mass in celebration of St Beuno’s Jesuit Spirituality Centre. The Mass, led by Fr Tom McGuinness SJ, marked the feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest. In his homily, Fr Tom drew from the words of Isaiah — “Holy, Holy, Holy” — inviting reflection on the experience of God’s presence that so many feel in the peace of St Beuno’s.

Located in rural North Wales, St Beuno’s offers Ignatian retreats that help people reconnect with God through silence, prayer, and spiritual accompaniment. The annual Mass is a moment of thanksgiving for those who generously support the centre throughout the year. After the Mass, guests enjoyed a convivial gathering with refreshments at the neighbouring London Jesuit Centre.

Supporters' ongoing generosity funds essential bursaries for retreatants, as well as maintenance of the house and gardens. A major upcoming project will involve upgrading the centre’s windows to improve energy efficiency, a key focus for the fundraising team.

John Green, Fundraising Manager at Jesuits in Britain, said:

“St Beuno’s is a place of deep peace, prayer and transformation. The generosity of our supporters makes it possible for so many to experience that — including those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford it. As we look ahead to important projects like improving the energy efficiency of the centre, we are so thankful for the ongoing commitment of our supporters.”

Most of those who attended the Mass at Farm Street are Friends of St Beuno’s, a growing community of supporters committed to sustaining the centre’s mission. By joining, individuals can stay connected through prayer resources, updates, and invitations to special events. To find out more or become a Friend, visit www.beunos.com/friends-of-st-beunos.

Last year, St Beuno’s welcomed around 2,300 retreatants. We offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for the celebration, and to all who continue to walk with us in prayer and support.
