The Jesuits in Britain have warmly welcomed the appointment of the Right Reverend Richard Moth as the new Archbishop of Westminster.

Fr Peter Gallager SJ, Provincial Superior of the Jesuits in Britain, said:

“On behalf of the Jesuits in Britain, I warmly welcome Archbishop Richard Moth as he begins his ministry in Westminster. We offer our prayers and support as he shepherds the whole Diocese and look forward to accompanying him in the shared mission of serving God’s Church in England and Wales.

“We give thanks for Cardinal Nichols’ many years of faithful service to God’s Church and hold him in our prayers with deep gratitude for his pastoral care, wisdom, and dedication.

“We pray that Archbishop Moth’s ministry may be marked by a special care for those on the margins, bringing hope and Christ’s love to all whom he serves.”
