The Jesuits in Britain provides safeguarding training for all its members, beginning in the Novitiate, and requires all Jesuits living and working in the Province to attend training courses at regular intervals. Safeguarding training is also required of those working with and for the Province who are in regular contact with children and vulnerable adults.

The Jesuits in Britain complies with church and national requirements regarding checking the suitability of all individuals involved in its ministries and works, whether Jesuits, salaried staff, or volunteers, using the civil vetting procedures of the DBS (in England & Wales) and PVG (in Scotland).
In all its works it abides by the Codes of Practice issued by the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Authority CSSA (in England & Wales) and the Scottish Catholic Safeguarding Service SCSS (in Scotland).
To read these Codes of Practice in detail, please
The Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency have asked every Religious Life Group to share a public survey inviting survivors to contribute their experiences. The purpose of this public call is to gather information from anyone who has had recent contact with a Diocese or a Religious Life Group (RLG).
This includes experiences that are new or ongoing, as well as those connected to non-recent abuse. While our primary focus is the period from July 2024 onwards, we do not wish to limit what survivors choose to share.
Information regarding this survey can be found here, and if you have any questions, please contact the CSSA Quality Assurance team at qualityassurance@catholicsafeguarding.org.uk
