Integral Ecology Quarterly Update: Winter 2026 Edition (Issue 5)

April 2, 2026

The Winter 2026 edition of the Integral Ecology Quarterly Update is now available, highlighting the latest progress in Jesuit environmental initiatives and integral ecology across the British Province.

This issue highlights the practical measures we are taking to reduce carbon emissions, including boiler replacements and solar installations at Jesuit residences in Boscombe and Walm Lane, the successful implementation of ground heating solutions at the Northwest Europe Novitiate in Birmingham, and the many initiatives being undertaken at Donhead Preparatory School, all of which are yielding tangible energy and cost savings.

The British Province finance team continues to engage with ethical investment practices, while Jesuit Missions calls for urgent climate action as global temperatures remain historically high.

The Laudato Si’ Research Institute has published its report on Catholic Approaches to Mining, and continues its Down to Earth Dialogues webinar series on agroecology and land-based practices.

Download the full update below to learn more about these developments and how Jesuit communities are putting care for creation into practice.

What is Integral Ecology?

Integral Ecology recognises the interconnectedness of social, environmental, and spiritual well-being. It invites us to care for creation while fostering justice, community, and personal transformation, reflecting the holistic vision of sustainability championed by Pope Francis in his encyclical, Laudato Si'.
